In the heart of Center City, Lydian Place is an ideal location for accessing all that Philadelphia has to offer.

Highlighting the rich culture of the Avenue of the Arts and our close proximity to the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz and Performing Arts (“the house that jazz built”), our name derives from the jazz term “lydian.” A chord with a raised 4th, lydian was heralded by music theorist George Russell as the most fundamental scale in jazz. Naming our corner of Philadelphia Lydian Place pays homage to the consistently vibrant culture of our city while echoing the classic beauty that has long distinguished it.
